The goal of the Jacksonville Day Resource Center is to provide a safe and hospitable environment for the City of Jacksonville’s homeless population to access a wide array of services, and also serves as a direct point of contact to programs and services offered by other inter-agency stakeholders within the community. On October 21, 2013 the JDRC opened its doors as a one-year pilot project with the primary goal of measuring the effectiveness in improving the coordination and delivery of services to the city’s homeless population. Additionally, the JDRC hopes to improve relationships between the city’s homeless population, area businesses and their customers, as well as residents and visitors in the Downtown area.
